Google’s privacy changes produce mixed opinion

Google have made changes to their privacy laws. The changes will combine more than 60 different policies into one. Google are now merging personal data from YouTube, Gmail, search, Google+ and more. This means information about what a user does in one application can be shared across all the platforms. Users cannot opt out of this change.

Millions of users search Google for a variety of interests each month. For many the tool is heavily relied upon to navigate the web. However, not all its users will welcome the changes made, simply because there is no freedom to choose whether to have the integrated option or not. Google has already made changes to the landing page of the popular search engine.

This could be potentially damaging to the credibility of the search engine, driving customers to other search competitors.

Google have defended the changes saying this will create simplicity and allow the search engine to generate more relevant adverts and search results.
