A computer the size of a credit card has gone on general sale. The Raspberry Pi is designed to help teach school children computing code, in a bid to reignite enthusiasm in computer science.
The Raspberry Pi is currently on sale for £22 but a cheaper version will be available later in the year. It was hoped that the innotative technology would be produced in the UK, however costs meant this was not possible. This reflects the up hill struggle that developers may experience in getting the UK back on an even playing field with developing, technology based markets, such as those in China.
Time will tell if school children are inspired to pursue a career in programming as they developers of Raspberry Pi have hoped.
