Vacancy – 1st Line IT Support
We are seeking a 1st line Support Engineer to join our team. The role will be based predominantly in the office but will require some travel to customer sites.
You will be expected to participate in an on-call rota and occasionally undertake some out of hours work, as is necessary full UK driving licence is essential.
The successful candidate will need to be confident dealing with customers over the phone, have a good technical knowledge of Windows and mobile platforms and be motivated to learn.
The Role
You will be the first point of contact for our clients when they are experiencing difficulties with their technology. Working alongside your colleagues you will need to resolve the issues in a timely manner, and where that is not feasible escalate to your 2nd line colleagues.
You will:
Provide remote support to our clients, predominately Microsoft 365 and Windows 10
Maintain helpdesk records
As part of the helpdesk team ensure that all calls are being actioned
Monitor customer systems
Undertake user admin tasks
Set up new users
Maintain customer system documentation
Ensure tickets are updated in accordance with SLAs
Configure equipment in readiness to ship to customer sites
Deploy solutions both remote and on customer sites
Liaise with 3rd parties
Person Specification
To achieve this, we are seeking a Support Engineer who:
Has a confident and outgoing nature with excellent communication skills
Has a genuine interest in helping others
Uses a methodical approach to tasks and troubleshooting
Works well in a friendly and dynamic team environment
Has strong logical diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
Is able to work on multiple tasks at a time
Has a full UK Driving License as customer site visits are required
Required Skills and Experience
1-2 years experience in an IT helpdesk and support role (reseller/MSP preferred)
Experience in supporting Microsoft 365, Windows 10 and basic networking
Experience in user management creation and device provisioning
